Review

A modern slant on stripes. Discover 12 projects that use bold striped patterns. Find colour options and 3 sizes for each project. The projects are equally divided into easy, intermediate and advanced. The book includes information on working with stripes and takes a creative approach to design. Includes tips for using stripes, cutting on the bias, matching seams and more. For each project you will clearly see the materials needed, cutting, construction and alternate colourways. Great attention to detail, easy-to-follow instructions and excellent photos throughout. My favourite is the Modern American quilt. This book not only provides 36 size options in 12 designs, it will get you thinking seriously about stripes and how to incorporate them into your quilts. (yarnsandfabrics.co.uk, 1/6/2016)

The 12 projects in this book (each in three sizes) will open your mind to new opportunities and the creative use of all kinds of stripes?from bold symmetrical repeats to fun chevrons. Creative cutting and piecing can create what looks to be complex designs, when in fact the stripe patterns fool the eye. You'll want to offer a class just on stripes, so stock up. Nothing beats striped fabric for adding movement and interest to a quilt. Stripes can be versatile and come in all shapes, sizes and, of course, colours! According to author Lauren, "The quilts in this book feature stripes as an essential design element, transforming this simple pattern into a useful tool for modern quilters." The 12 projects are designed for quilters of all skill levels. Each project is provided with two colour options and three sizes.
